Great article--I wish I would have read it before I built my boat!! I went a few steps further and installed a self-righting system! With a 4 channel unit, I can swing the mast to the side and also move a weight along the front beam to the high side of the boat. I also put a float on the top of the mast to keep it on it's side instead of turning upside down. Fortunately, I haven't had to test it, yet. I used heat shrink wrap to cover the extension, but I like your channel better. I'll probably go that route. The hinges are a great idea because the system they suggest stinks. |

EXCELLENT! Sure helps me take the plunge. I race a Victor S1M and am keen on a multi. Victor doesn't actively promote this kit anymore but I called them this week and they'll put on together I've booked mark your site and it'll be by hand-holder thru this. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to put all of this up on the web. |

Thanks for the help. Just took it out for it's maiden sail today. Waited for light winds as I never sailed a cat before. Seemed to sail very well. |
